The Family Justice Center will gather Aug. 20 at 2 p.m. to talk about ways to protect children. Love, Period, a fairly new program in Chattanooga, will present information. According to the most recent Always Confidence & Puberty Survey, nearly 1 in 5 girls in the U.S. have either left school early or missed school entirely due to a lack of access to period products. Additionally, research indicates that the lack of period products is not only a problem for girls but also for women in many communities across the U.S.
Michelle Howard, site director for Camp HOPE America at Partnership for Families, Children, and Adults, will also speak at the training.
