If The John Ross House Has To Move, Let It Go To Cherokee, N.C.

  • Wednesday, August 6, 2025

Regarding the Chief John Ross House and whether it should be moved to Oklahoma. If it should be moved why not have it move to Cherokee, N.C.

That is the home to the Eastern Band of the Cherokee people where the Trail of Tears began.

More people will be able to see it and learn the history of the great Cherokee Nation's struggles imposed by the U.S. government of the time. It will be lost to history in Oklahoma.
