Scenic City Clay Arts has named Madeline Rose as the new executive director of the nonprofit organization.

Ms. Rose’s background in finance and operations, combined with a deep passion for arts access and creativity, will help to further advance the mission and vision of the growing organization.

“Over the past few years, SCCA has grown tremendously,” said Zack Ridder, SCCA Board president. “It was of vital importance to the Board that we get someone who was right for the culture of SCCA and able to act on the expressed needs of the community to expand everything from class offerings to capacity concerns. That is a tall order, but Madeline’s combination of skills and experiences were excellent indicators to us that we have found the right person to keep SCCA a vibrant and thriving community.”

Ms. Rose’s role as executive director includes managing the overall vision and direction of SCCA, financial management, and implementation of a 5-year strategic plan completed earlier this year. Ms. Rose will also lead fundraising efforts as well as community engagement initiatives.

“SCCA is in an incredible stage of growth, which will inevitably bring about change. Through these changes, I promise to stand firmly behind our mission to provide access to clay arts and to create safe, inclusive spaces for all Chattanoogans to express themselves,” says Ms. Rose.

Ms. Rose has previously served as financial controller at a regional artisanal bakery chain (Choc O Pain) in New Jersey and, before that, a senior investment operations associate at T. Rowe Price in Baltimore. A lifelong lover of the arts, Ms. Rose was drawn to SCCA for its dedication to creating safe, welcoming spaces for Chattanoogans to express themselves.

Ms. Rose is a native Chattanoogan and Baylor School alumna, who graduated from McDaniel College in Westminster, Md. with a BA in Economics and Business Administration.
