The KELCURT Foundation / Soddy-Daisy Community Library is hosting Minerva’s Masquerade, a semi-formal gala fundraising evening with dinner, cocktails, a silent auction and a murder mystery experience. The event will take place on Saturday, March 2 at 6 p.m. at Cedar Hills Farm, 10152 Denali Trail in Soddy-Daisy.
Guests will receive a masquerade mask upon arrival, and each table will be decorated based on a different literary theme, author or book. Each centerpiece will include handcrafted book art, flowers made from book pages and a variety of other elements designed to bring the book - and the table - to life.
Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.
by Chattown Catering, featuring garlic parmesan chicken, herb-crusted pork with peach chutney, grilled vegetables, scalloped potatoes and pasta alfredo baked ziti, with sweet tea, lemonade, coffee and infused water. All items are gluten-free, and vegetarian and pork-free options are available.
Desserts are being provided by Bond Girl Bakery, and a cash bar will be on hand, offering a variety of cocktails, including Minerva’s Martini.
Guest speakers will be taking the podium beginning at approximately 6:45 p.m.

Julie Edwards is the producer and host of Local 3 Plus You, an entertainment and community affairs program on Local 3 News. She has been a supporter of the foundation for many years.
Lesley Stiles Scearce is president and CEO of United Way of Greater Chattanooga where she leads a nonprofit team committed to addressing social service issues to build a stronger and healthier community for all.
Taquiya Thompson is the community relations manager, Regional Relations, East Region for the Tennessee Valley Authority. Ms. Thompson has worked with the foundation on a variety of special projects, including making book flowers for the centerpieces for this event.
Jessica Oswald is a renowned best-selling romance novelist with Cupid Book Publishing. Her novels include Love’s Fiery Passion, Fiery and Passionate Love and The Passionate Fires of Ardor. Her latest novel has sold out from newsstands, truck stops and Walmarts across the United States.
And at any time, guests will be caught up in a murder that must be solved before the evening ends.
Throughout the evening, a variety of items will be available for bidding during a silent auction. Proceeds from the silent auction, as well as any funds raised by the event, will go to support the mission of the KELCURT Foundation / Soddy-Daisy Community Library.
