Barbara Plyer
Barbara J. Plyler age 85 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton, Tennessee.
She was born on August 26, 1938 in Monroe, Nc. to the late Vern and Reecie Helms.
Barbara was raised in North Carolina, spending most of her life there. She moved to Spring City in 2010. Barbara loved music and played the banjo and piano. She also loved quilting and doing crafts. Barbara was of the Baptist faith.
Barbara is also preceded in death by her husband Carol O. Plyler, her sisters Linda Erwine, Betty Lou Helms, and Francis Helms, and her brothers Buddy Helms, Neal Helms, and Nelson Helms.
Survivors include her children Roger (Cathy) Greene of Spring City, Tn. and Barbara Gail Sherrin of Blacksburg, Sc; her brothers Joe and Ray Helms both of Monroe, Nc; her sisters Brenda Marze and Elvelyn Pope both of Monroe, Nc; her five grandchildren Randall Greene, Melissa Ezell, Racheal Cannon, Ronnie Sherrin Jr., and Kenny Sherrin; her five great grandchildren Shy (Vanessa) Ezell, Kailey Ezell, Alexander Cannon, Steven Cannon, and J.C. Sherrin; and her two great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 16, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Fox officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Grandview Baptist Church, 5205 Wassom Memorial Hwy, Grandview, Tn. 37337, in her memory.
