The Chattanooga Division of Transportation announces the follow upcoming paving schedule and construction road closures:
Paving and Resurfacing Schedule for March 3-7:
The City of Chattanooga Department of Public Works in conjunction with contract crews has scheduled the following locations for resurfacing for the week of Monday, March 3 through Friday, March 7 (weather permitting):
- Tabitha Drive from Norcross Road to Vanessa Drive;
- Northern Hills Road from Thomas Lane to Thomas Lane;
- Northwoods Drive from Carmack Road to Cul-de-sac;
- E.
29th Street from S. Orchard Knob to 4th Avenue;
- E. 48th Street from Wilson Road to Edinburg Drive;
- E. 49th Street from Wilson Road to Edinburg Drive;
- E. 51st Street from Wilson Road to Woodland View Circle;
- Glenn Falls from W. 54th Street to Dead End;
- Michigan Avenue from Maryland Avenue to Alabama Avenue;
- Seneca Avenue from Westbridge Road to Edelweiss Street;
- W. 25th Street from Market Street to Broad Street;
- W. 28th Street from Market Street to Broad Street; and
- W. 33rd Street from Chandler Place to Alton Park Boulvard.
Single-lane closures will be required with two-way traffic being maintained by flagging. Driveways and intersections may briefly close while crews mill and resurface past these points. All work is weather permitting and subject to change without notice.
Scheduled Construction:
Douglas Street at Oak Street
Major utility installations associated with the new expansion of UTC’s Fletcher Hall will result in the closure of Douglas Street between McCallie Avenue and the UTC Library delivery access point. An estimated 100 feet of Oak Street west of Douglas Street will also close during construction. Closure will begin Monday, March 3, and is estimated to last until Aug. 1, 2027.
417 Thompson Street
Thompson Street will be closed in the 400 block on Monday, March 3 through Friday, March 7 for the installation of a new sewer main. Detours will be posted.
