Couple Argues, Tossing Clothes On Sidewalk - And Other East Ridge Police Calls

Day Shift July 2: A Squad

25-006996 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder
Police responded to the parking lot on a reported disorder. A couple got in a verbal altercation and tossed clothing onto the sidewalk. The officers defused the situation, the ladies picked up the clothing and agreed to separate for the
afternoon.

25-007005 – 6700 BLK Ringgold Road – Disorder
Police responded to a disorder at the inn after a tenant and management got into a verbal dispute over the tenant's extended stay.
The guest said the management locked her out of the room for non-payment and staying beyond the allowed number of nights. After a brief discussion with all parties involved, the guest agreed to leave the hotel, and the management agreed to refund her the cost of the room she booked for the night. She gathered her family’s belongings and left the property without incident.

25-007010 – 5700 BLK Roper Street- Disorder Prevention
A man was escorted into the residence to collect some of his belongings without any incident

25-007004 – 3500 BLK Ringgold Road – Check Wellbeing 
An employee requested a male party be checked on after observing him sleeping in a ford F-150 with the engine off for several hours. Officers found the man sleeping, seemingly unbothered by the heat. Upon waking him, the subject’s pupils appeared to be pinpointed, but he adamantly denied taking anything. He seemed coherent during a conversation with officers and refused a search of his truck. He was then sent on his way.

25-007008 – 6100 BLK Sherwood Drive – Domestic Assault
A couple both called police on each other following an argument. Both parties alleged one threw juice at the other during the argument, but parties denied prosecuting for Domestic Assault. One left to diffuse the conflict.

25-007012 – 4100 BLK E Ridge Avenue – Harassment–
A party reported that her landlord was harassing her. Upon reading the text exchange, the officer deemed the two parties were simply having an argument. No charges are being sought currently.

25-006993-4300 BLK Ringgold Rd.- Suspicious Vehicle/ Field Interview
During routine patrols, police observed a marron Fiat 500 parked in front of the business with sheets in the windows. The officer contacted the sleeping driver who advised he had worked out the night prior. He stated his car keys had been stolen, and he slept in his vehicle overnight. Police asked if he would like to report the theft. He declined the report and stated he still had his car. 

25-006995- 5500 BLK Ringgold Rd.- Disorder
Police were dispatched to the laundry on reports of a customer refusing to leave. Officers spoke with the owner who stated he wanted the subject trespassed. The offending party was issued the trespass warning. Prox# 25-000120

25-006997- 410 BLK Bennet Rd.- Disorder Prevention
Police were dispatched to this address on reports of a female who was refusing to leave. The complainant stated a party had overstayed her welcome. The woman agreed to leave, and police stood by while she gathered her belongings

25-007000- 5700 BLK Roper Street- Domestic Assault/Arrest
Police were dispatched to this address on reports of an assault. A woman advised her boyfriend had struck her in the face. Officers did not observe any injuries to her person. Police spoke with the boyfriend who stated he had been assault by the reporting party. Police observed bite marks and scratch marks on his body consistent with his account of the incident. The female subject was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Assault and transported to jail without incident.

Night Shift July 1: C Squad

25-007037 – 5300-6000 BLK Ringgold Road – Focused Traffic Enforcement
Between 2000 and 2130 hours, Police conducted focused traffic stops on Ringgold Road. The key focus areas were hands-free violations and drivers failing to move over for stopped emergency vehicles. During this timeframe, Police initiated 11 traffic stops, issued 13 written citations, and gave 3 verbal warnings while still answering routine calls for service.

25-007018 – 4400 BLK Ringgold Road – Auto Broken Down
Police observed a tractor trailer broken down on Ringgold Road and found it was partially blocking the roadway. Units provided traffic control while the driver repaired the vehicle and moved it to another location.

25-007021 – 601 Justice Way – Warrant Service
While in custody at the Hamilton County Jail, a woman was served with a Petition to Revoke arrest warrant through the City of East Ridge. The original charge on the warrant was Possession of Methamphetamine.

25-007024 – 600 BLK Camp Jordan Parkway – Intoxicated Person / Arrest
Police responded to the report of an intoxicated person in the parking lot of a restaurant. Police located a heavily intoxicated female and identified her. It was determined that she was a danger to herself and others, so she was arrested for Public Intoxication.

25-007028 – 6500 BLK Ringgold Rd – Motor Vehicle Crash / Arrest
Police responded to a two-car crash at the gas station. During the on-scene investigation, officers determined that one of the drivers was highly intoxicated and responsible for the crash. She was not able to complete the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing due to her level of intoxication. The woman was taken into custody and charged with Driving Under the Influence, Reckless Endangerment, and Failure to Exercise Due Care.

25-007033 – 5800 BLK Ringgold Rd – Domestic Disorder
Police observed a Dodge Charger sitting at a green light for an extended period. The officer approached the driver and found that he had a verbal argument with his brother. The other man had taken off on foot. Police found him two blocks away and checked his well-being. Officers determined the incident was verbal in nature and ensured both men got home safe for the evening.

25-007040 – 1100 BLK John Ross Rd – Residential Fire (False Alarm)
East Ridge Police and Fire Department units responded to reported residential fire. Responders located an area with heavy white smoke, but found it was a large, controlled fire in a residential backyard. Fire   Department units checked on safety compliance before departing the area.
