Erlanger To Host 21st Annual Dinner Of Distinction March 14

Erlanger announces its 21st annual Dinner of Distinction, honoring exemplary physicians and community leaders who have made outstanding contributions to healthcare and the greater Chattanooga community. This year’s event will take place on Friday, March 14 at The Westin Chattanooga.

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a welcome reception, providing attendees an opportunity to celebrate with colleagues and friends. The dinner and program will follow at 7 p.m.

The 2025 honorees include:
• Michael Carr, MD, pediatric surgeon with University Surgical Associates, recognized for his dedication to advancing pediatric surgical care in the region;
• James Haynes, MD, dean of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine – Chattanooga, honored for his visionary leadership in medical education and his commitment to training future healthcare professionals;
• Alvaro Valle, MD, surgeon with University Surgical Associates, celebrated for his exceptional skill and compassionate approach to patient care; and
• Kelly Arnold, MD, with Clinica Medicos, who will receive the Gordon Street Distinguished Community Leader Award for her tireless advocacy and service to underserved communities.

The Distinguished Physicians—Drs.
Carr, Haynes and Valle—were selected by previous honorees for their enduring commitment to improving the community’s health and for demonstrating unquestionable character and human compassion. Additional criteria include a lifetime of medical contributions to the community and a steadfast commitment to Erlanger’s healing mission and values.

Erlanger will also honor Dr. Arnold with the “Gordon Street Distinguished Community Leadership Award.” This annual award is presented to leaders who have championed the advancement of healthcare in the Chattanooga region, are committed to improving health throughout our community, and are dedicated to Erlanger’s healing mission and values.

This year’s honorees and their stories of perseverance, innovation and compassion will undoubtedly inspire attendees and set the standard for future generations."
