Chattanooga softball hits the road for another Southern Conference series. The Mocs and Terriers will open up with a Friday double header and conclude action Saturday afternoon. Both days begin at 1:00 p.m. in Spartanburg.

This will be the second meeting between the two programs. Wofford is just in its second year of competition.
The Terriers beat UTC two games to one last year in Chattanooga.
The Mocs beat the Terriers 2-1 in the initial game, but Wofford came back to win the second game 3-1 and the final game 11-7 to claim the series.
The Mocs have won five straight, four by shutout, including three at Furman. The Mocs are hitting .297 with 97 extra base hits, 58 doubles, 11 triples and 28 home runs with 183 RBI. Camryn Cernuto leads the team with a .378 batting average and 36 runs scored. She’s 16-for-16 on the base paths and has 11 sacrifice hits. Olivia Lipari has a .348 batting average and 12 doubles and 32 RBI. Acelynn Sellers and Presley Williamson lead the Mocs with eight home runs each. Williamson has a team-best 36 RBI and Sellers has 32.
In the circle, the Mocs have a 2.68 team ERA and 325 strikeouts. Peja Goold has a 1.55 ERA, 174 strikeouts and a 17-5 overall record. Taylor Long has a 2.51 ERA, 126 strikeouts and an 11-1 record.
The Terriers swept Mercer and Western Carolina and have won seven of their last eight games. As a team, Wofford is hitting .287 with 69 multi base hits with 40 doubles, 10 triples and 19 home runs and 169 runs batted in. Brianna Stanley leads the team with a .336 batting average. She and Hope Ingle lead the team with seven home runs. Ingle has a team-best 32 RBI. Rivers Sampson is hitting .291.
Wofford’s pitching staff has a combined 2.04 ERA with 232 strikeouts, 30 complete games and six shutouts. Margaret Axelson has a 1.76 ERA with a 12-6 record, three shutouts and 15 complete games.
