Chase Lundberg, a top soccer goalkeeper in Chattanooga, has committed to playing Division 1 Soccer for The United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO.
Lundberg, a four-year starting goalkeeper for Notre Dame High School and a player for the Chattanooga Red Wolves USL Academy team and the Chattanooga Red Wolves ECNL team, announced his intention to commit to the United States Air Force Academy. Chase is a former player for CFC, the Nomads, and Redoubt soccer club. He was also a member of the Tennessee State ODP team and a member of the South Region ODP pool.
Chase has been training for the last 5 years with Ryan Swartzentruber, the Lee University Men’s Goalkeeper coach. Lundberg credits his development to Coach Swartzentruber. “Coach Swartzentruber has pushed me beyond my limits to become a better goalkeeper” said Lundberg,
Lundberg had over 15 scholarship opportunities to play soccer but held out for the Air Force Academy. “The hardest part of this process was the waiting for the right opportunity”. stated Lundberg.
He acknowledges several mentors from the past including Coach Louis Thorpe, and Coach JD Kaiser. He would also like to thank coaches Chaz Jackson and Kwame Appiah. He also credits and thanks Bart Nason of USA Recruiting for helping him find the right fit and encouraging him to be patient.
