Ronald L. "Ron" Palmer, 55, of Hixson, died on Wednesday, July 17, 2002, in a local hospital.

A native of Chickamauga, GA, Mr. Palmer had spent most of his life in the Chattanooga area. He had attended Woodland Park Baptist Church. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corp in Vietnam and had worked several years as a deputy sheriff with the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department. He was president of Professional Hunting Products, the designer and manufacturer of various hunting products and at the time of his death, he was a partner with Brooks Construction Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Willie Belle Palmer; and sister, Betty McCain.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Fletcher Palmer; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald Jr., and Cori Palmer of Nshville, and Robert Stacey and Jennifer Palmer of Ringgold; brother, John A. Palmer of Rossville; sisters, Barbara Beague of Owasso, OK, Joyce Gordon of NW, and Martha Louise Parker of KS; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Heywood Cosby and Randy Wilson officiating.

Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home, Rossville.
