A full two-hour program of music, dancing and comedy is on tap for the Women’s Council of Realtors’ 7th Annual Talent Show set for May 2 at St. John United Methodist Church, being served up with a barbecue dinner, all under the theme “Shake, Rattle and Roll.”

Planners also announced a new event, the “First Annual WCR Beauty Contest,” which they said will add to the entertainment and will be “something different.” The planning committee would not elaborate on this event.

The show is almost sold out, said Nina Boss, WCR ways and means chairman who is heading the planning committee. Tickets are $15 per person or tables of eight are going for $120. Ms. Boss said more than 27 of the 30 tables have been filled.

The meal will include pork and chicken, beans, potato salad, slaw, bread, banana pudding, tea and water.

The buffet line will start at 6 p.m. and dinner will be from 6 to 7 p.m. at which time the popular WCR talent show will begin. An amazing array of entertainers from throughout the real estate industry, from the ranks of Realtors, financial areas, title companies, inspectors, appraisers and others linked to the industry will perform at the show.

Entertainment will include vocal groups and soloists, instrumentals, dancing, comedy routines, gospel music and patriotic music. The beauty crowning is scheduled for the end of the show.

The show is expected to last about two hours and a full house is expected by the opening.
The church is located at 3921 Murray Hills Drive.

For ticket information, contact Brenda Pargeon at Crye-Leike Realtors, 1510 Gunbarrel Road, phone 892-1515, or Ms. Boss at Century Title & Escrow, 7030 Lee Highway, phone 894-1890.
