The Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority announces the graduation of its first-ever class of CARTA Ambassadors. The ceremony held on Thursday, June 13, attended by Mayor Tim Kelly, recognized the achievements of the new bus drivers, mechanics and transit professionals who have completed their training and are ready to serve the community.
"This marks a significant milestone for CARTA as we celebrate the dedication and hard work of our inaugural CARTA Ambassadors,” said Charles D.
Frazier, CARTA chief executive officer. “These graduates have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to providing safe, reliable and efficient transportation services to the people of Chattanooga. They are the driving force behind CARTA’s mission to serve Chattanooga, Hamilton County and beyond.”
Officials said, "The CARTA Ambassador program was established to develop a skilled workforce of transit professionals who excel in the roles they are trained for and act as ambassadors for the City of Chattanooga and CARTA as front-line workers. Throughout their training, the graduates have gained the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their duties."
Mayor Tim Kelly commended the graduates, saying, "I believe Chattanooga can be the best city in America, but I know that a city can’t reach its potential to be great for all its residents without high quality public transportation. The success of Chattanooga depends on CARTA’s progress. And these new public servants will be at the forefront of that progress, as the faces of Chattanooga for everyone who uses a CARTA service. We are so grateful to have them aboard."
Mr. Frazier said, "As our CARTA Ambassadors begin their careers, we are confident that they will make a lasting impact on our city. Their dedication to excellence and passion for serving others will fuel our city's economic engine and shape a brighter, more connected future for all of us."
