Thursday, I’ll be heading out for my 12th Bonnaroo, and the 22nd Bonnaroo festival overall. 2024’s Bonnaroo is shaping up to be another incredible event featuring a diverse lineup reflecting the new direction taken by Live Nation after it took full ownership of the festival two years ago. This year’s event is set to take place in Manchester, Tennessee from June 13-16.

Chattanooga’s Riverbend Festival has been woven into the culture and fabric of our town since it was first held in 1982 and the announcement that the festival will pause this year is a strange turn of events.

Last year, Riverbend instituted format changes and raised ticket prices and it’s hard to say how those changes affected this outcome. Since 2002 though, Bonnaroo has been Chattanooga’s “Other” festival because it’s only 45 minutes west of us. For those who feel like they’re missing out on this year's Riverbend, it might be worth taking the trip to Manchester.

The lineup for the 2024 Bonnaroo has something for everyone featuring a mix of established and up-and-coming artists from various genres. 2024 includes headlining performances from Post Malone, Fred Again, Megan Thee Stallion, Red Hot Chili Peppers, GWAR, Cage The Elephant and Carly Rae Jepsen.

One interesting plot twist this year is that DJ’s are headlining two nights with Pretty Lights on the main stage on Thursday night and Fred Again finishing the festival on Sunday night. Pretty Lights will be playing a special Saturday Morning Sunrise set which should be a nice turn of events for both the die-hard’s and the early risers, and this year’s SUPERJAM will include Once More with Feeling(s) and Dashboard Confessional.

Bonnaroo is known for its vibrant and inclusive community atmosphere. Festival-goers can find a wide range of activities and experiences including art installations, yoga and the ever-present silent disco.

Thursday, June 13th, Great Stage Park in Manchester transforms into one of the largest cities in Tennessee. Bonnaroo’s colorful and energetic space creates a welcoming environment for attendees to come together and celebrate their love of music and art.

As always, Bonnaroo will emphasize sustainability and eco-consciousness. Festival organizers have made strides at reducing waste and promoting environmental stewardship with initiatives such as reusable cups, water stations, and eco-friendly vendors. This commitment to sustainability aligns with the festival's ethos of creating a positive impact on both the community and the environment.

With its diverse music lineup and vibrant atmosphere, the 2024 Bonnaroo is set to be an unforgettable experience. Whether you're a fan of rock, pop, hip-hop, or electronic music, there's something for everyone at Bonnaroo. Get ready for an amazing weekend of music, art, and community at the 2024 Bonnaroo festival!
