Ernest Carlton Griffin
Ernest Carlton Griffin, 92, of Rossville, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004.
He was a native of Greenwood, Ky. He had been a resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area for over 50 years. He was a member of the Chattanooga Valley Church of Christ. He was retired from Combustion Engineering with over 30 years of service and a member of the International Association of Machinists. He was an avid train lover and rider of freight trains during his childhood and in the Depression era. He also loved writing poetry and music.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane McPherson Griffin.
Survivors include daughters, Mary Janice (Gene) Bohannon, Belford, N.J., Judith Kay Griffin, Rossville; son, Jim (Brenda) Griffin, Chickamauga; and granddaughter, Heather Brooke Bohannon, Belford, N.J.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the South Crest Chapel with Minister Reid Perry and Minister Alwyn Ketner officiating.
Burial will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 3-9 p.m. Monday at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
