An alleged fugitive was shot and killed at the parking lot of the Sports Barn East on Lee Highway early Tuesday afternoon.
He was identified as Michael Kyle, 48, of East Brainerd.
The U.S. Marshal's office and city fugitive officers were seeking Kyle on a fugitive warrant and found him on the parking lot.
Kyle reportedly brought out a large weapon, then a fatal shot was fired by the U.S. Marshal.
The incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m.
Crime tape was placed around the perimeter of the property and nearby Vance Road was closed off. A number of officers as well as emergency responders went to the scene.
