Glenn Ray Lankford, Sr., of Hixson, died on Saturday, July 21, 2007.

A native of DeKalb County, Al., he was the son of the late Robert and Dolly Lankford. Mr. Lankford retired from Combustion Engineering after 30 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Craig and sister, Delores Dawson.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeanette Lankford, Hixson; sons, Ray Lankford, Hixson, Gary Lankford, Chickamauga, Wayne (Jeanne) Lankford, Rossville; daughter, Janice Lankford, Hixson; brothers, Jimmy Lankford, Chattanooga, Doyle Lankford, Ft. Payne, Al.; sisters, Hazel White, Jacksonville, Fl., Marie Young, Scottsdale, Az., Peggy Lankford, Columbiana, Al., Charlotte Burton-Matthews, Muscle Shoals, Al., grandsons, Jeremiah, Micah, Nethaneel, Tyler, and Joseph Lankford; granddaughter, Katie Lankford; great-granddaughter, Jasmine Lankford; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be at noon on Tuesday in the chapel with Brother Doug Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

The family will receive friends from 2–4 and 6–8 p.m. on Monday and 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
