Dr. Levi Patton Home On Missionary Ridge To Be Featured On HGTV

  • Saturday, September 6, 2008

The interesting home of Dr. Levi and Ann Patton will be featured on Home and Garden TV on Monday at 5:30 p.m.

It will be part of a program entitled "Chandelier Shocker," according to current owners Curtis "Spike" and Ann Barnes.

Dr. Patton was a prominent African-American doctor here and Ann Patton was a famed harpist.

They built the unique home at 153 N. Crest Road in 1948.

The three-story home is built of limestone and has 5,000 square feet, including four bedrooms and five bathrooms.

It has a slate roof and copper gutters as well as lots of chandeliers, tile and hardwood flooring.

Mr. Barnes, who is well known for his Volvo business on Workman Road, said the house went into foreclosure and he and his wife bought it five years ago.

He said, "We love it. We have kept it much the way it was built."
