Dodgers Make Roster Moves Affecting Lookouts

Sunday, the Los Angeles Dodgers announced that pitcher Travis Schlichting has been promoted to LA from Chattanooga.

In a conjunctive move, pitcher Paul Koss has been activated off of the disabled list and placed on Chattanooga’s active roster.

In addition, Monday, pitcher Kendy Batista has been promoted to Chattanooga and will make the start on the mound for the Lookouts. Pitcher Travis Chick has been reassigned to Ogden.

Schlichting pitched in nine games for the Lookouts (13.2 IP) and went 1-0 with one save. He yielded just one earned run, seven hits, and seven walks, while striking out 12. He sported a 0.66 ERA during is tenure with the Lookouts.

Koss, who was placed on the disabled list on April 30th, made six relief appearances for the Lookouts before his injury. He pitched a total of 8.1 innings and gave up six hits, two walks, and two earned runs (2.16 ERA). He accrued one save and seven strikeouts.

Batista pitched in 12 games (four starts) for Inland Empire this year. In 30.2 innings, he has surrendered 33 hits and nine walks, while striking out 39. He is 1-2 with a 4.99 ERA.

Chick is 3-2 with a 5.70 ERA on the season for the Lookouts. In 36.1 innings, spanning seven starts and two relief appearances, he accrued 34 strikeouts, while yielding 39 hits and 16 walks.

Schlichting becomes the fourth Chattanooga Lookout in 2009 to make his way to Los Angeles this season, joining OF Jamie Hoffmann (currently with Los Angeles), pitcher Brent Leach (currently with the Dodgers) and pitcher Scott Elbert (currently with Chattanooga).

Monday night, the Lookouts and Mobile BayBears continue their five-game series at 7:15 P.M.
