Normal Park Museum Magnet School will host its eighth annual NormalPalooza Arts & Music Festival on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The festival will be held in North Chattanooga at the corner of Dallas Road and Mississippi Avenue.
NormalPalooza offers an eclectic line-up of live music and dance, and an art market showcasing more than 60 local artists. Entertainment will include music from various local bands, theatrical performances, a Kids’ Corner with games and activities and a petting zoo. A morning yoga class will also be led by Jessica Jollie of Northshore Yoga at 10 a.m.
“We love the fact that schools, families, neighbors, artists and musicians all come together to support this unique event in an atmosphere that is fun, welcoming, and accessible to everyone,” said Helen Johnson, co-chair. “This is a wonderful way for our school to reach out to the community and celebrate the arts.”
The main stage will feature live performances from local bands including The Nim Nims, The New Binkley Brothers, Moonlight Bride, Machines Are People Too, How I Became The Bomb and Uncle Lightning.
General admission to NormalPalooza is free, and tickets may be purchased separately for “Kids Corner” activities.
This year, nearly 2,000 attendees are expected to be present for this unique urban neighborhood festival to enjoy local music, socialize with friends and neighbors, shop for gifts, eat great food and support public education for the arts.
Local restaurants will have booths selling food such as Link 41, Lupis, Good Dog, Chattanooga Cupcakes, Whipped Cupcakes, Rita's Italian Ice, Jalapeno Corn Dog, Pure SodaWorks, Southern Burger, and Flippy's Barbeque.
This project is funded by an agreement under the Allied Arts and the Tennessee Arts Commission.
