Local Student Earns Degree From Piedmont University

Chelsea Rucker of Chattanooga, earned an Associate of Arts from University of Maryland Global Campus in spring 2025.

Rucker was one of 6,770 students worldwide who earned degrees from UMGC in the spring 2025 term.

Piedmont University conferred degrees to undergraduate and graduate students, who earned master's and education specialist degrees last Friday during a 10 a.m. commencement ceremony.

Among the graduates was Joshua Astacio, of Chattanooga, who earned an education specialist in curriculum and instruction ini cert degree.

"Congratulations to all our graduates and their families, friends and supporters," said Piedmont University President Marshall M.

Criser, III. "We are proud to welcome you to the Piedmont alumni family."

The ceremony was held at the Johnny Mize Athletic Center on the Demorest campus.
