The Center of Creative Arts cast of the Salt and Pepper, a one-act play written by Jose Cruz Gonzalez, has received an invitation to present their play at the Southeastern Theater Conference. They will present the play as part of the Fringe Festival, a performance venue at the conference.

The Southeastern Theater Conference, the largest theater conference held in America, will be held in Chattanooga the first weekend in March.

Maggie Hudgins, the director of Salt and Pepper, received the prestigious invitation from representatives of the Southeastern Theater Conference who attended the school’s presentation of the play at the Tennessee Theater Association Convention earlier this fall.

The play is a drama dealing with the need for communication within a family and literacy issues. The cast was also honored when one of the actors, David Couter, was chosen as Best Actor at the convention.

Cast members include David Couter, Jay Echols, Wes Jones, Rava Stapp and Leica Wilde.

The Center for Creative Arts is Hamilton County’s Performing and Visual Arts Magnet School and has been named one of four Outstanding Arts Schools from across the nation by the Network of Performing Arts Schools.
