Brandon Worley and Austin Carter combined to shoot 13-under-par 59 in the first round of the 5th Tennessee Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship on Saturday, seizing a four-shot lead entering Sunday’s final action.

The Johnson City resident also recorded six birdies on the day, including four across his opening seven holes.

Kingsport’s Carter, who played collegiately at ETSU, carded an eagle of his own on the par-5 7th hole to go along with an impressive collection of six birdies.

The Knoxville pairing of Anthony Basilio and Cody Johnson sit alone in second after posting a 9-under 63 over the 6,886-yard par 72 layout, with Basilio carding six birdies on his round.
