Another line of severe storms in the Chattanooga area knocked out power to numerous homes and businesses in Hamilton, Bradley and Walker counties.

Late Saturday afternoon, there were 7,718 addresses without power in Hamilton County.

In Bradley County there were 3,260 outages, along with another 3,048 in Cleveland.

Walker County had 1,695 outages.

A number of large trees were knocked down, including in North Chattanooga.

EPB was able to prevent lasting outages for thousands of customers using its automated grid infrastructure. Unfortunately, damage from the storm was substantial with more than 400 incidents of downed power lines, broken utility poles and other infrastructure damage.

EPB immediately began deploying utility workers including additional crews from other areas that EPB had been brought in just in case. To further accelerate repairs, EPB called in more crews from other communities. By Sunday it was expected there would be at least 450 utility workers engaged in the effort to restore EPB customers.

With so many incidents of severe infrastructure damage, restoring all customer will take time. The free, all-new MyEPB app is the fastest way to report outages, check repair progress, and get estimated restoration times as soon as they are available. Customers will find links to download the free app for both iPhone and Android at EPB.com.

Officials said, "Stay away from downed power lines and poles and report them by calling EPB at 423-648-1372 or via Live Chat at EPB.com."
