GPS' Chadarryl Clay Is Miss Basketball

Chadarryl Clay from Girls Preparatory School was named Miss Basketball for Division II-AA for 2011.

The other two finalists were Symone Daniels from St. Benedict at Auburndale and Taylor Reece from Brentwood Academy.

Clay is a 5’8” junior point guard. She is a three-year starter who averages 17.2 points, four rebounds, six assists, and 3.1 steals per game. She shoots 36% from the field, 30% from behind the arc, and 67% from the free-throw line. She has been an All-Region selection all three years of her high school career and was named Region Player of the Year this season.

Chadarryl was an All-State selection last year and she surpassed the 1,000 career point milestone mid-way through her junior season.
