Junior League Has Annual Tour Du Jour April 9

Junior League of Chattanooga will host its 6th annual Tour du Jour, a self-guided tour of Chattanooga kitchens, with the latest in culinary design and state of the art appliances. The tour will be held on Saturday, April 9, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Tickets are available for two for $20 until the day of Tour du Jour, when tickets will be $20 a person. Tickets may be purchased online at www.jlchatt.org or by calling or stopping by the Junior League of Chattanooga headquarters during business hours, located at 622 East Fourth St. The day of Tour du Jour, tickets will be available at each of the kitchen locations.

Tour participants will receive a Tour guidebook, with photography by Cansler Photography, outlining each kitchen's design and material details. Plans for the 6th annual Tour du Jour are still being finalized, but at least nine different kitchens and several entire homes will be featured.

This year's Tour sponsors include Scarlett’s Cabinetry, Sunny 92.3 FM, JWH Builders, Against the Grain Custom Woodworks, Haskell Interiors, Ana Woodworks, Classic Cabinetry, The Tile Store, Ferguson Enterprises, DirectBuy, and Norcia Fine Cabinets.

Each kitchen will feature a special presentation. Previous Tours have included presentations by Sushi Nabe, Fischer Evans Jewelers, River Gallery and many other local businesses.

This year’s Tour will kick off with a preview party on April 2 celebrating the launch of JLC’s new cookbook, Seasoned to Taste: Savoring the Scenic City. Tickets to the launch party, which will be held at Space in Warehouse Row, will be available online at www.jlchatt.org on March 1. The cookbook will also be sold for $29.95 at Tour du Jour kitchens.

Tour du Jour is one of the JLC's three signature events. The others are Kids in the Kitchen, a free fun-filled day for children to learn about healthy eating habits and exercise which will be held on Sunday, May 22, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Chattanooga Market, and Clean Sweep, a one-day rummage sale held every other fall, this year on Oct. 15. The JLC also operates the Bargain Mart, located in Highland Plaza at the corner of Hixson Pike and Ashland Terrace.
