East Ridge To Provide Vacuum Leaf Collection Service

  • Thursday, September 22, 2011

The residents of East Ridge will no longer have to bag leaves during leaf season. The East Ridge Sanitation Department will provide a vacuum leaf collection service beginning Monday, Oct. 31 and ending Monday, Feb. 28. These dates may vary somewhat, but leaf pickup will generally run from mid to late fall until early spring. This service is free to all East Ridge residents.

Residents may rake leaves to the curb and city crews will vacuum them up according to a schedule which divides the City into two areas. The schedule is as follows:

South of Ringgold Road: First two weeks of the month

North of Ringgold Road: Last two weeks of the month

Please rake leaves close to the road, but not on roadway surface. Do not include rocks, sticks and other debris in leaf pile. Residents are asked to assist crews by not parking vehicles in front of leaves during collection period as this makes it difficult to maneuver vacuums.
