His commitment is deeply personal and professional, shaped by firsthand experience with the impact cancer has on families.
In 2018, Mr. Ottinger was an Ambassador for the Men Wear Pink campaign notably raising over $76,000 as an ambassador-earning top fundraiser honors-and serving as co-chair in 2021. His leadership continues to be a driving force in advancing support for cancer patients and their families throughout the Chattanooga community.
The American Cancer Society's Men Wear Pink campaign is a powerful movement uniting men as ambassadors and advocates in the fight against cancer. Every year, 10-17 men are chosen to participate in the national fundraising campaign. These men are competing against 61other cities to raise the most money both individually and collectively as a team. The initiative provides a platform for participants to raise awareness, generate funds, and make tangible differences in the lives of those battling cancer.
Over the past 12 years, the men in Chattanooga have stepped up by demonstrating remarkable commitment by participating as an ambassador for breast cancer and the American Cancer Society Men Wear Pink fundraising campaign. Chattanooga alone has raised well over $1 million during the month of October each year to support breast cancer research as well as community resources and education for patients in East Tennessee.
Through this campaign, men are leading the way to create hope, support, and progress in the fight against cancer showing the strength truly can be worn with style. The public can support these men by donating to their campaigns or participating in one of the many "give back" nights or fundraising events that will take place at some local restaurants and retail stores during September and October.
