(L-R) HCSO Deputy Chief of Corrections Tim Davis, Corrections Deputy Timothy Higgins & Sheriff Austin Garrett
On Thursday, August 7, Sheriff Austin Garrett recognized Corrections Deputy Timothy Higgins for his life-saving actions during a medical emergency at the Hamilton County Jail in October. Deputy Higgins, alongside his team, successfully administered CPR, Narcan, and assisted ventilation using an Ambu-Bag to stabilize an inmate experiencing a drug overdose.
Although Corrections Deputy Higgins was unable to attend the original commendation ceremony due to scheduling conflicts, his colleagues—Corrections Sergeant Jeremy Poteet and Corrections Deputies Hunter Whaley and Brandon Muhleback—were previously honored for their roles in the incident.
The swift and professional response by the team, along with the timely administration of CPR and Narcan, were critical to the inmate surviving this medical incident.
Please join the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office in commending Corrections Deputy Timothy Higgins and his team for their dedication, composure under pressure, and commitment to the safety and well-being of those in their care.
