Lenten Hymn Festival Planned For March 11

The local chapter of the American Guild of Organists and Directors, is sponsoring a Lenten Hymn Festival for the entire Chattanooga community.

"Paschal Lamb, Who Suffered For Us," a hymn festival for Lent, will be Sunday, March 11, at 5 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, 214 East Eighth St.

This is an opportunity for all persons to come together as a congregation to sing great Lenten hymns, hear scripture readings and to worship in one of the most beautiful churches in the city.

Participating churches and choirs are: Chattanooga Girls Choir, Church of the Good Shepherd, St. Timothy's Episcopal, Rivermont Presbyterian, Christ Episcopal, Grace Episcopal, Brainerd United Methodist, First-Centenary United Methodist, Ascension Lutheran, Sts. Peteer and Paul Roman Catholic, St. Peter's Episcopal, and Lookout Mountain Presbyterian.

Instrumental accompaniment will be by organ, brass ensemble, flute, guitar, tambourine and bells.
