A 19-year-old has been charged in the death of a Soddy Daisy man who had been missing since late July.
Keith Lee Stewart has been charged with criminal homicide in the slaying of 24-year-old Casey Burgiss.
The victim's remains were found Monday in a remote area near Layne Road off Dayton Pike on Monday. The location is several hundred yards from where Stewart lives with his parents.
Family members of the victim said they were told that he had been shot and killed. Police said it may have been a dispute over drugs.
Burgiss was arrested in June on charges of possession of marijuana and driving on a suspended license.
His family had placed posters around town asking for information on his whereabouts.
