General Sessions Court Judge Durby To Leave Bench On Medical Disability

General Sessions Court Judge Ron Durby is set to leave the bench and take a medical disability.

Judge Durby was not at court on Tuesday, but he said he would be in the office on Wednesday.

The replacement will be named by Governor Bill Haslam.

Among those listed as possible contenders are Collegedale Judge Kevin Wilson, Assistant District Attorney Lila Statom and County Commissioner Jim Fields.

Judge Durby, a former University of Alabama football player under Bear Bryant, previously served as clerk and master in Chancery Court.
