Natalie Tate
BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has promoted Natalie Tate to director of corporate pharmacy affairs. Under her new title, Ms. Tate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all pharmacy activities to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care to BlueCross accounts and members.
In this new role Ms. Tate will be managing a staff of corporate pharmacists to serve as a resource for the latest pharmacy recommendations and guidelines. In addition she will coordinate provider education, group support and analytics, providing support for sales and account management activities related to the employer groups’ pharmacy benefit. She will also champion e-prescribing initiatives and participate in the utilization management activities of the regional teams for all lines of business.
“Natalie has demonstrated success in her ability to guide providers and groups in following BlueCross’ pharmacy programs and efforts to improve adherence, which leads to better health outcomes,” said Elaine Manieri, vice president of pharmacy management for BlueCross. “She has a deep understanding of how to analyze data in order to enhance our health care value story for business partners and members.”
Ms. Tate joined BlueCross in 2007 as a regional pharmacy director. Prior to joining BlueCross she worked for Memphis Managed Care Corporation, and also brings experience in hospital and retail pharmacies.
Ms. Tate received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center and her MBA from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is licensed with the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy and certified with The Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties.
