Northgate Crossing Shopping Center
Urban Story Ventures has acquired Northgate Crossing Shopping Center in Hixson, adding another retail hub to its mixed-use commercial portfolio. The Southeast real estate development group sees retail as one of the strongest sectors in the local market and has plans to continue growing their footprint with shopping center acquisitions.
“Chattanooga is trending. With all the residential growth, we are buying more retail centers in hotspots like Hixson and East Ridge,” said Jimmy White, president and managing partner of Urban Story Ventures.
“Contrary to concerns raised with national headlines announcing major retailers closing their doors, we are seeing an impressive wave of retailer interest in expanding in and relocating to our market.”
Northgate Crossing Shopping Center sits on 4.03 acres located at 1966 Northpoint Blvd. in Hixson. The center contains a fully leased multi-tenant building with 49,000 square feet of retail space and is anchored by Goodwill Industries, Inc.
Other retail assets owned, leased and managed by Urban Story Ventures include 6210 Hixson Pike, a former abandoned grocery store-anchored retail hub that the company redeveloped and leased within the past few years. The company is currently working on redeveloping “Tennessee’s First Shopping Center” in East Ridge. The property includes several buildings and stretches across 13 acres on both sides of Ringgold Road.
