Robere Son Sues Over Sale Of House On Side Of Lookout Mountain

  • Friday, August 10, 2012

The son of the late Jon Robere, a longtime prominent Chattanooga musician, has sued over the sale of the Robere homeplace on the side of Lookout Mountain by Jon Robere's second wife, Judith Robere.

Paul Robere says in the Chancery Court complaint that there was an agreement that he would be given right of first refusal should Judith Robere ever decide to sell the house on Military Road just below the Cravens House.

Paul Robere and his sister, Diana, had sued Judith Robere over the will of Jon Robere following the death of Jon Robere in January 2000. That case was settled with Paul Robere getting the agreement about the sale of the house and he and Diane receiving certain items in the house.

Paul Robere, who lives in Thailand, said in May he was notified by Damon Stegall, who lives near the Jon Robere homeplace, that he had bought the house and its contents from Judith Robere for $70,000.

The suit, filed by attorney Chris Markel, asks $100,000 compensatory damages and $100,000 punitive damages.
