Attorney Joe DeGaetano, who was a finalist for General Sessions Court judge to take the post of Judge Ron Durby, has been appointed as a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Lila Statom was named by Governor Bill Haslam as the judge to replace Judge Durby, who went on medical disability.
Attorney DeGaetano had also been a candidate in the election to replace General Sessions Court Judge Bob Moon, who died of a heart attack a year ago.
