$23.1 Million Is Low Bid For New East Brainerd Elementary School

The low bid for construction of the new East Brainerd Elementary School has come in at $23,142,000.

The bids from six general contractors were opened by the Hamilton County Purchasing Department. 

Gary Waters, assistant superintendent, recommended accepting the low bid as submitted by Tri-Con Construction.

The bid recommendation includes the base bid and accepting add alternate #1, in the amount of $15,000.

In accordance with an existing inter-local agreement with Hamilton County; approval by the Hamilton County Commission is also required.

The new school will be at the site of the former David Brainerd School.

It will replace the East Brainerd Elementary on East Brainerd Road.
