Elizabeth Ann Ward, 32, of Etowah, TN, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Athens Regional Medical Center, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A native of Middlebury, VT, Elizabeth had lived in the Crossville and McMinn County area for the past 25 years. She was a 2003 graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College and a member of Christian Covenant Church. Elizabeth was a devoted wife and mother and had a sincere heart to serve her friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jim and Marjorie Dunlop and paternal grandparents, James and Lynn Brewer.
She is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Nehemiah Ward of Etowah; children, Gracious, Silas and Justice Ward of Etowah; parents, Gary and Claire Brewer of Crossville, TN; brother, Gary Brewer and wife Jessica of Crossville, TN; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, from the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 18 at Piney Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. A dove release ceremony will conclude the services.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17 at the Serenity Funeral Home of Etowah who has charge of the arrangements.
