Megabus That Had Stopped Earlier In Chattanooga Crashes Near Indianapolis

A Megabus that had stopped earlier in its route in Chattanooga wrecked near Indianapolis early Tuesday morning, injuring at least 26 people.

The double-decker bus, which was headed from Atlanta to Chicago, landed on its side on I-65 North around 4:35 a.m.

Authorities said the driver stated that the bus was hit by a car that was trying to avoid an earlier wreck.

There were 56 people on the bus.

A number of the passengers were taken to hospitals, though none had life-threatening injuries.
