Edward “Eddie” C. Turbyfill, 90, of Ooltewah, died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at his home.

He was the second to the oldest of five siblings born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Turbyfill.  Eddie was a veteran of World War II and retired from the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C.

Eddie was baptized in Baltimore, Md., as a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and currently a member of the McDonald Road Seventh-day Adventist Church.  His favorite expression was “Keep looking up, Jesus is coming soon.  All is well in my Father’s house!”

He was preceded in death by his wife, LaRue and brother, Olden Turbyfill.

Survivors are his daughter, Donna Pottillo; godson, Larry Coon;  four siblings, Vernon Turbyfill, Harold Turbyfill, Imojean Whittington and Opal Jestes.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday , Dec. 23, at 1:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Don Gettys officiating.
