Marietta Hosts Distinguished Young Women Of Georgia State Finals

The Distinguished Young Women of Georgia Scholarship Program announced that it will welcome the Class of 2015 to Marietta this Sunday for the State Finals Week. Twenty-four young women from around the state will compete for $13,000 in college scholarships and a year of representing the program as the Distinguished Young Woman of Georgia for 2015. 

The state finals program will be held Friday and Saturday, August 1-2 at the Performing Arts Center on the Marietta High School campus. Both shows will begin at 7 p.m., with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The Saturday evening show will conclude with the selection of the 2015 representative. Tickets for both shows will be available at the door. 

Distinguished Young Women, formerly America’s Junior Miss Scholarship Program, is sponsored by the City of Mobile, Mobile County, Barbara Barrington Jones Family Foundation, State of Alabama, Alabama Resource Conservation and Developmen Councils, Alabama Power Foundation, Encore Rehabilitation, Wintzell’s Oyster House, Master Boat Builders, and Regions Financial Corporation.
