Martin, J. Don (Dalton)

J. Don Martin, 89, of Dalton, GA, died on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at his residence. 

He was the son of the late W. C. Martin and Edna Hunsucker Martin; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Jerri Martin; sister, Betty Philpot; and brother, W.D. Martin. 

Don was in the United States Navy, serving in World War II and was employed with Brown Printing of Dalton for over 32 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Dalton First Baptist Church. 

Don is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Donnie Mansfield of Dalton; grandson, Josh Mansfield of Dalton; brother, Lamar Martin of Cleveland, TN; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 20 at the Dalton First Baptist Church with The Rev. Phillip Cannon and Dr. Bill Ireland officiating. Burial will be in Whitfield Memorial Gardens. 

The family will receive friends in the Atrium of the Church on Wednesday, August 20 from 5-7 p.m.

The family request flowers please be omitted and memorials made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 827 Dalton, GA 30722-0827.
