Floral Design Symposium Coming Featuring Debbie Schaver And Marilyn Smith

Heritage House and the City of Chattanooga’s Youth and Family Development Department have teamed up with the Hickory Valley Garden Club to present a series of Floral Design symposiums featuring special guest speakers who will create and critique their own designs. These symposiums will offer insight into floral design as well as the cultivation and handling of the flowers and other plants used therein. The symposium will take place on Oct. 15 from 12:30-2 p.m. at Heritage House Arts & Civic Center.

Featured guest speakers will be Marilyn Smith and Debbie Schaver. Both are Accredited Flower Show Judges and Master Gardeners. Ms. Schaver is also Immediate Past Awards Chairman for TFGC and District 3. Ms. Smith is also District 3 Treasurer. 

An additional workshop will be held on Nov. 12 where the topic will be “Flower Show Preparation” with a preliminary design workshop. The Flower show and Horticultural Exhibit will be on Nov 15 from 12:30-3 p.m.
