Ronald Carelli
Ronald James “Ron” Carelli, 54, of Hixson, Tennessee, passed away tragically alongside his beloved wife, Misty, on May 5, 2025, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born on August 5, 1970, to the late Albert Carl “Al” Carelli Jr. and Marti Carelli Gilbert Bergstresser, Ron was a man full of life, laughter, and love. He attended Cleveland State Community College, where he played varsity baseball—combining his natural athleticism with a deep passion for sports. He spent most of his career in retail management, largely with Reebok and was most recently employed at Mountain View Nissan in Dalton, Ga.
Ron’s dedication to service was evident early in life as he proudly served as the first K-9 officer in Summersville, WV. He later answered another call to serve, as a deacon at Abba’s House, where his faith and compassion touched the lives of many.
He loved the outdoors, especially playing golf, and could often be found sharing his love of the game with friends and family.
Ron was a father of five, known for his big bear hugs—often accompanied by a signature grunt. He was a natural goofball, lighting up any room with his quick wit and contagious laughter. Whether through a clever joke or a silly story, Ron had a way of making people smile.
Ron’s legacy of laughter, kindness, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving children: Skye (Bryce) Rainwater, Seth (Truman) Carelli, Savannah (Luke) Whittington, Bella Carelli, and Alli Carelli. He also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren, his brothers, Vince (Tamra) Carelli and Andrew (Prioleau) Gilbert, and his sister Kelly (David) Rochow along with eight adored nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at Abba’s House with Pastor Ronnie Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Bryant Cemetery in Dunlap, Tn.
