Nancy Elizabeth Epperson, 82, of Dalton, Georgia, died on Monday October 19, 2015 at her residence.
Nancy was born June 3, 1933 in Dalton and was preceded in death by her husband, William Hoyt “Billy” Epperson; her father, Emmett Bohanan; and her mother and step-father, Sally Kate Skidmore and Free Franklin.
Nancy was a very unique lady. She was an angelic, unselfish, caring, loving, gentle soul, always trying to help someone. Her main goal in life was for all of her children to go to heaven. She worried about the homeless and was always concerned about the poor. Nancy worked for many years at Shaw Industries at Plant #5 in the yarn department and in later years at the Senior Center delivering Meals On Wheels.
She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, William Felton “Buddy” and Lori Epperson, Gene Epperson, Scott Epperson and Earl Brindle “Brent” Epperson all of Chatsworth, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Ronnie Hicks and Kay Peavy of Chatsworth, GA, Connie Thomison and Phyllis Beasley all of Dalton, GA and Billie and Ronnie Carroll of Chatsworth, GA; special lifelong friend, Evelyn Lovain of Dalton, GA; 23 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Epperson will be held Saturday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Paul Peavy officiating. Inurnment will follow at United Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after noon Saturday, Oct. 24 until the service hour.
