Billie Anne Jordan Wylie, 94, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

The daughter of the late John and Mable Northcutt Jordan was born on October 13, 1930. She graduated from McReynolds High School and earned a bachelor's degree in social work from West Virginia State University. It was there she became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She later earned a master's degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis. She was a licensed clinical social worker for over 35 years with the District of Columbia Public School System.

Billie moved to South Pittsburg, to care for her beloved aunt, Mayme Northcutt Burnett (wife of Professor M. M. Burnett). She had a special place in her heart for dogs. She treated her furry companions, Pippin, Posha, Piper, and Peanut like family. Her home was always filled with the joyful barks and wagging tails of her beloved dogs. She had a deep love for plants which allowed her green thumb to bring beauty and tranquility to her surroundings. In addition to her positive personality, Billie was a courageous breast cancer survivor.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Gwendolyn J. Hill, Jewel T. Williams, Mable J. Rice, and Charman J. Humphrey, brothers, John L. Jordan and Shellie R. Jordan.

She is survived by her brother, Kenneth U. Jordan of South Pittsburg, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be remembered for her boundless generosity and compassion for others. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the memories of our journeys together.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 26, from 5-7 p.m. (CDT) at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, 400 Laurel Ave., South Pittsburg, Tn.

A private graveside service will be held at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, Tn. at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Rogers Funeral Home, South Pittsburg Chapel, 400 Laurel Ave., South Pittsburg, Tn. 37380, 423 837-7176.
