Catherine Peak Parrish, 89, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025. She was born in Blountstown, Florida, on October 22, 1935. Catherine lived a life defined by love—her love for family and friends, and her dedication to serving others. She walked faithfully in her beliefs and was known for her unwavering kindness. People were naturally drawn to her warmth. Fun-loving and spirited, she was affectionately known as the “pinch hitter” at Morning Pointe, where she played softball.

A proud graduate of Florida State University, Catherine began her career as a social worker where she helped an underserved population before becoming an educator. She later earned her master’s degree from the University of Tennessee and continued her calling in education as a guidance counselor, where she deeply cared for her students and their futures.

Catherine’s strong faith was the foundation of her life. As a member of New Heights Church, she lived out her beliefs through compassion, kindness, and service. She was also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she shared her generosity, leadership, and loving spirit with all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, James S. Parrish. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family.

Catherine is survived by her children: Christina Emery (Terry), Cheryl Pedigo (Allan), and Ed Parrish (Radonna); her grandchildren: Jessica Pruitt (Chris), Christopher Parrish (Ashley), and Michael Parrish (widowed); six great-grandchildren; and a circle of lifelong friends who became family.

Her kindness, wisdom, and steady love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

A Celebration of Life will be held 6:00 PM Monday, July 14, 2025, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Woody officiating. The family will receive friends, 4-6 P.M., Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Alhambra Shrine for the Lexington Hospital Fund or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
