Glennon Caruthers, 78, of Chattanooga, passed away, Friday, June 18, 2025, in a local hospital.

She was affectionately called “Doll” by her family and friends. Glennon was born on Dec. 16, 1946, in Leroy, Texas as the seventh child of James E. Randolph, Sr. and Armelia Gee. She attended G.L. Wiley Jr High School in Waco, Texas, and continued her education at Moore High School.

Glennon’s life journey led her to meet and to marry Frank E. Caruthers on Nov. 4, 1965, and they shared a 59-year marriage. In that union, they had three children, Karen of Tennessee, Vicki of Belton, TX, and Frank (Keshia) Jr. of Tennessee. She proudly earned her CNA degree. As she traveled with her husband, she selflessly worked at various military hospitals and clinics.

Though Glennon was preceded in death by her parents, James E. Randolph, Sr. and Armelia Gee; daughter, Barbara Jean Caruthers; siblings, Lola Gray, Gladys Randolph, and James E. Randolph, Jr., her legacy lives on through her remaining brothers and sisters, Clifton Randolph, of Frisco, TX, Joe L. (Glenda) Randolph, Sr., of Waco, TX, Patricia (Leslie) Clark, of Waco, TX, Norma (Elbron) Anderson, of Elizabethtown, PA, Willie Mae Collins, of Temple, TX, Tina Warren, of Killeen, TX, and Letha (Kevin) Wise, of Killeen, TX; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Funeral service for Glennon will be Saturday, July 5, at 9 a.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Brother Eric Garner as the Eulogist. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
