Wynell "Nell" Cross Massingill
Wynell "Nell" Cross Massingill, 90, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025.
Nell was born on Nov. 21, 1934, to Corace and Ruby Cross in Vienna Georgia. In 1954, Nell married the love of her life, Grady Eugene Massingill. Grady and Nell went on to have three children, Thomas "Reid", RandaIl "Randy" Grady and Rhonda Lynn. Grady and Nell were married for almost 69 years. Nell worked for many years at Orange Grove as a teacher's aide. Her love for helping others later led her to become a certified nursing assistant at Memorial Hospital where she eventually retired.
Nell was a devoted servant of God and attended Frawley Baptist Church for many years. She set the standard as a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Nell also leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Nell was predeceased in death by her husband-Grady Eugene Massingill, father-Corace Edward Cross, mother-Ruby Bush Cross, sisters-Martha Hatcher and Mary Stokes, brother-Edward Cross and grandson-Justin Reid Massingill.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas "Reid" Massingill and Randall "Randy" Grady Massingill (Pam) daughter, Rhonda Lynn Faile (Tim), grandchildren, Rachel Massingill, Magen Faile, Taylor Massingill (Katie), Kelsey Faile, Austin Massingill (Alexis); great-grandchildren, Brantley, Hudson, Bennett, Grey, Cash and Asher Massingill.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 27, from 2 p.m. until funeral service time at 4 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
