“Hey…Now”! For over five decades listeners have heard those words booming from radio personality Tommy Jett.
Mr. Jett and one of his close friends, Ralph Vaughn, have teamed to write a book about the flamboyant TJ the DJ. Just released to the public, The Jett Age: Flying with Tommy Jett is a glance at his life.
The biography includes the struggles to find a purpose, reaching what appears to be a pinnacle, handling success, keeping the common touch, being true to one’s self and staying on a spiritual foundation that appeared unstable at times.
The Jett Age was a period in time when "Tommy Jett ruled the airwaves capturing the imagination of listeners as he seemed to be almost bigger than life." Sunglasses and rings on every finger of his hands were his trademark and persona.
The biography leaves some things to the reader’s imagination; however there is no doubt about the good, the not-so-good and almost everything in between.
Priced at $20 per copy, Mr. Jett will be available to sign autographed copies at the Dinner Bell Restaurant in Flintstone on Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and at the Riverbend UNUM Stage from 7-9 p.m. He will also be introducing Juice Newton and Exile at 8 p.m.
Cameras are welcome, no purchase is required at this event.
